Description: Sticks&Stones provides a spiritual alternative to the classic bow tie in woodworking. Its transposition into X-shaped stones (found on the beach in Dieppe, Normandy) is not only used to keep both tabletops together but works as a reflection on human behaviour and our relationship to nature. The stones become a mini Zen garden in an ocean of wood. A strong image of contemplation is obtained without endangering functionality. An appropriation of unused spaces between people, not a loss but a gain. The line between function and sculpture becomes less distinct.
